Trip to Munich

Hello everyone. This page about Munich will show to you the brightest sides of this beautiful and old city in the center of Europe. A three day trip to Munich is one of our international excursion possibilities. We will stay in the beautiful center of Munich and we will see all historical and famous places.

Munich is Germany's third largest city after Berlin and Hamburg. The city has a population of 1.35 million and the Munich Metropolitan Regions are home to around 6 million people. Munich is the capital of the German state of Bavaria. The city is located on the River Isar of the Bavarian Alps. Offering a mix of old world charm and a vibrant cosmopolitan lifestyle, Munich is a city that will delight people of all ages.

Known for its beer gardens, Bavarian traditions and traditional German foods and restaurants, Munich is not a city to visit if you are on a diet or if you are shy about sitting down at a table with strangers. Situated in the heart of the Alps and capital of Bavaria, Munich makes a great starting point for any trip in Germany. People are friendly, the atmosphere is jovial and there are things to do all year around. With over 400 beer gardens, you are never far from being able to relax and maybe join in with some traditional prosting and singing.

The new town hall was built in 1867 - 1909 in Flanders Gothic style. Its facade, over 300 feet in length, features strikingly elaborate stone ornamentation. Its 260- foot tower with carillon is, with St. Peter's Church and the twin towers of the Cathedral, one of the most distinctive features of the city's skyline.

The Munich Frauenkirche has been the cathedral and metropolitan church of the South Bavarian ecclesiastical provinces since the establishment of the archbishopric of Munich and Freising in 1821. This brick-built Late Gothic church owes its impact to its great size (131ft), its high walls, its clear articulation and its lack of ornamentation. With its sturdy twin towers, rearing up to a height of 328ft, it is Munich's most celebrated landmark.

The Munich October Festival runs for two weeks every year in late September to early October. A large number of beer tents, a giant fun fair, side shows, souvenir stands, and nearly seven million visitors make the Munich October Festival the largest festival in the world.
