The main market square in Krakow is the main square of the old town. It is the largest medieval town square in Europe. The square is surrounded by old brick buildings and palaces, almost all of them centuries old. The main landmarks on the square are the St. Mary's Basilica, the Cloth Hall which you can see in the photo, and the St. Adelbert's Church. |

The Gothic Wawel Castle was built at the request of Casimir III the Great and consists of a number of structures situated around the central courtyard. People have lived there at the site of the Castle as early as fifty thousand years ago, in the Paleolithic Age. The Wawel Castle is one of the most beautiful royal houses of Europe. |

The Wieliczka Salt Mine, located in the town of Wieliczka, is within Poland's Krakow metropolitan area. It is one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. The mine reaches down to a depth of 327 meters(1073 feet) and is over 300 km long. After the 3 km tour of the mine's corridors, its chapels, statues and lake, visitors take an elevator back up to the surface. |
