Where will you be staying? Many programs won't tell you.  Some programs will even scatter students all over the city.  They may use arbitrary language such as: all students  are located approximately 30 minutes by public transportation from the classes.  It only takes 30 minutes to the last subway station in Prague during the day, but when the subway closes at midnight you could be cut off from the center of the city and Prague's night life!

CEECE students choosing the dorm option on a University of Economics program are housed in the Jarov dorm in Prague 3 Zizkov.  The typical Czech neighborhood of Zizkov has cafe's and a variety of restaurants.  However, It is more lively during the the day than at night.  The dorm is close to public transportation and shopping areas.  Students can easily get around on foot or by taking a tram into the city.  There is a tram into the city at night.   Students will have to take a tram 15-20 minutes to get to class.

The dorm is for all University of Economics students so there are mostly Czech students at the dorm as well as other international students.  There are always two students sharing one room together.  Each room has a study area, kitchenette, full bathroom and high speed internet connection, which enables communication with parents and friends at home

The dorm has all the basic essentials you should need and are fully furnished.  Do not bring pillows, blankets, sheet etc.  For lunch and dinner you may take advantage of the student cafeterias located at the University or in the dormitory area.  Hot meals usually include soup, main dish and drink and cost $2-$3.  You will need to buy pots and pans and dishes if you want to cook in the dorm.

The dorm option is recommended for students who want to be immersed in a Czech dorm environment .   This option is not recommended for independent minded students or students who want live in the center of Prague.
