The CEECE program at Anglo-American University in Prague

The Campus

Founded in 1990, AAU is an English-language liberal arts college offering undergraduate education in Humanities, Business Administration and Legal Studies. These programs are designed to give students the practical skills they need to succeed in their chosen career as well as the academic, civic and character virtues they need to excel as citizens and leaders. The AAU community is student-centered and highly interactive. Class sizes are small, and the faculty emphasize independent thinking, precise reasoning, clear writing, and the practical and creative application of acquired knowledge and skills.

Accreditation

Anglo-American University (AAVS in Czech) is accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and it is recognized as one of the top private colleges in Central Europe. AAU graduates have been accepted into graduate programs and AAU credits have been readily accepted at schools across Europe and the United States. AAU's Business Administration Program has been accredited by the European Council for Business Education (ECBE). ECBE status is recognized by the American accreditation agency, the Association of Collegiate Business Studies Programs (ACBSP), through the AAU's membership of the joint ECBE-ACBSP Global Alliance for Business Education (GABE).

Faculty

The faculty are experts in their field and most hold a doctorate degree or higher. Many faculty also teach at Charles University. There are also visiting faculty from other prestigious institutions such as Oxford, among others. All faculty show a high commitment to teaching and the values of a liberal arts college.

Students The student body of over 300 is about two-thirds Czech; this contingent is rounded out by international students representing Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. With a diverse student body and a small-college environment, AAU offers an educational experience that is unique in Prague.

Location

The AAU campus is situated in the heart of Mala Strana, one block from the Charles Bridge and at the foot of the castle hill. The campus is housed in the restored, 18th century palace of the Knights of Malta, although the foundations of the building date back many centuries. The campus includes admissions, financial, and administrative offices; along with classrooms, a computer lab, and a periodicals and reference library. Students can enjoy their studies while immersed in the history, art, architecture, and culture of Prague!
