The Instituto Europeo

Located in the heart of Florence, literally steps from the Cathedral, the ISTITUTO EUROPEO, for years has specialized in teaching Italian language, Music and culture to students from all over the world. The Institute's philosophy is to make learning enjoyable; to delve into the study of the language and culture in a multi-cultural environment, which is both friendly and dynamic.

Academics

ISTITUTO EUROPEO is pleased to offer Academic Semester and summer programs. The courses are widely accepted by most US colleges and universities, this allows students enrolled in US institutions to study abroad in Florence, while still earning credit toward their undergraduate degrees at their home institutions.

Courses

The curriculum of semester courses at ISTITUTO EUROPEO is based on US university standards, regarding credits and contact hours, mid-term and final exams, course syllabi, grading system, etc. All semester courses are taught in English, with the exception of the Italian language classes, and some upper division literature courses (where “in Italian” is specified). History and Art history courses are supplemented with several on-site lectures in Florence’s major churches, museums, and monuments.
