Grading Policy
The following policies ensure that Anglo-American University maintains a high standard in its grading policies. The programs of study are accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and use the U.S. grading and evaluation system.

All final course grades will be reported in the form of a “Letter Grade”:   A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, F or P.

While student performance can be differentiated within each letter grade, all students falling within
any one such grade (A, B, C, D, F) should match the following qualitative criteria:

A: Excellent Performance
The student has shown originality and displayed an exceptional grasp of the material and a deep
analytical understanding of the subject.
B: Good Performance
The student has mastered the material, understands the subject well and has shown some originality
of thought and/or considerable effort.
C: Fair Performance
The student has acquired an acceptable understanding of the material and essential subject matter
of the course, but has not succeeded in translating this understanding into consistently creative or
original work.
D: Poor
The student has shown some understanding of the material and subject matter covered during the
course. The student's work, however, has not shown enough effort or understanding to allow for a
passing grade in School Required Courses. It does qualify as a passing mark for the General
College Courses and Electives.
F: Fail
The student has not succeeded in mastering the subject matter covered in the course.
P: Pass
The student has received credit for the course but no letter grade. (See Pass/Fail Policy and New
Start Program.)
